Jews Love: Dancing

Harley is sick today and not posting. Therefore I am in charge of the blog. Muahahahaha.

In honor of the recently passed Simchat Torah, here are a couple videos that have been going around of Jews dancing.

I actually have a question about this one. How is it ok for the women to be videotaped dancing if men will see it?

Yeshiva University's version of So You Think You Can Dance. And no, I haven't been on a date with any of these guys.

I did, however, go out on a date with this guy:

We went dancing. No, really, we did. And no one did a face plant. He is actually quite good.

I'm not really sure who the Bottle Dancers are, but the combo of Chasidim, alcohol, and dancing really says Simchat Torah to me.

Believe it or not, this is what Chasidism was about back in the day. Unrestrained, trance-like dancing.



This is classic Frum wedding schtick*. Guys dancing in kilts to "Turkish Kiss" translated into Hebrew except not really. Bizarre like you would not believe.

And because it is so Israeli, the "Numa Numa" song (also known as Dragosta Din Tei) translated into Hebrew. I think that I liked it better when I couldn't understand what they are saying.


An example of AWFUL Israeli Dance, it gets better as it goes on, but it is hard to top the moment when some girl crawls through a 50+ year old guy's legs. I also like the everpresent sound of tennis shoes squeaking on the floor:
