Jews Love: Craigslist/Chicago

At least my apartment does. And not for the "get a good deal" aspect. No, no, for the amusement value.

Things that we learned last night:

1) Evan hates the women in his office.
2) I make more working for non-profit than I would as a mistress. If I found my "protector" on Craigslist. Maybe if I found one elsewhere it would be different.
3) I need a new hobby.
4) I need to move to Chicago

For those of you who are unaware, I have something that I like to call "the Chicago plan." It is as follows: after I finish my current job (tenure of up to two years) I will move to Chicago with my friend Witzy. It isn't really a well-developed plan yet. CJ is not a fan of the plan. His response was: "Do you like warmth? And topography? And having things to do? Then don't go to Chicago. It is colder than New York."

I would like to submit though, that I would be willing to switch prospective locations. After reading Chris's post on KosherEucharist, New Zealand seems to be a good choice. They not only have a transexual member of parliment, but also kiwis. And some fabulous rugby. Also, Chris, I don't know that "sleeping with a fat chick" is a war crime. In fact, according to my upstairs neighbor, that, and teaching girls how to hookup both fall under the category of "non-profit work."

A couple hard at work saving the world. They are so giving.

What did you see on Craig's List that made you want to move to Chicago?

Also, that post by Evan is a great find. I don't know whether to laugh or feel sorry for him.

LT- I just generally want to move to Chicago, unrelated to Craigslist. I am kind of over New York.

I can understand being over New York (though I'm still quite a fan myself). What I can't understand why you'd pick Chicago over, say, California. Or if you want to stay somewhere with cold winters (I love cold winters), perhaps Toronto or Boston.

I inexplicably have no desire to go to California. As for Boston, I used to live in one of the suburbs (points if you can guess which one) so I feel like I've done that.

Also, some of my favorite people grew up in Boston, and I have at least one former roommate whose family would love to take me in.

Nope.

Still no.

Well, both my brother and sister live in the Boston area, so I feel like I should know more suburbs. Alas, I am at a loss. No points for me. =(

I thought it was actually tax-deductible charity work, but apparently there's a lot of stuff in the Geneva Convention that doesn't get talked about a lot. Also, in the New Zealand post, I forgot to mention that they have easily the best rugby team in the world. They pulled off a grand slam tour, which is when you beat the national teams of England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland in one tour. They're in the tri-nations league with Australia and South Africa - and have won it more than twice as many times as Australia and SA put together.

After my discharge, I lived in the Boston area for a while. First in Jewton Centre, then in Dorchester.
I enjoyed living in Dorchester more. Newton is full of bourgeois types, who suck in a major אופן.

Why do you want to make a jews only blog area? isn't that what one might want to get away from? Being segregated away? I have numerous Jewish friends, some of which who practice and I am almost for certain that they don't feel the need to visit a site that excludes their friends. I gues the question comes in to play here which is "is being Jewish a state of mind or a ethnicity?", my mom's longtime Jewish partner of 10 years who is very active in his Jewish community of Nw Chicago told me that one by the way! There is some debate as to the question whether it's ethnicity or religion. I'm sure most of you would only marry an individual of mother-is-of-Jewish descent. My ex-girlfriend had a mother who was Catholic and a father who was Jewish. In Catholicism it's your father that includes you and in Judaism it's your mother... GO FIGURE! Have fun secluding yourselves! By the way I'm not a die hard religious person and consider myself to be quite Liberal along with my Liberal jewish pals and my Liberal all types of critical thinking pals!
