Dear Kosher Deli near my new office,
you suck. You are, on average $2.50 more expensive (per ITEM) than my previous kosher deli. You didn't have whole wheat bread, and you charged me extra for lettuce and tomato on my sandwich... and then DIDN'T PUT THEM ON.
Also, your pickles are kind of gross.

Do not buy from any sandwich shop that charges for lettuce.
who puts lettuce and tomato on a deli sandwich. maybe cole slaw with the mustard but lettuce and tomato?

whoa.. wanna keep the name calling to a minimum yo? but for the record, i think both cole slaw and lettuce are inappropriate. you don't make friends with salad.
Pedant- my options for kosher meat are limited.
Anon- I'd say Russian dressing with cole slaw, and mustard with lettuce and tomato.

Cole slaw on a nice thick roast beef sandwich with Russian dressing? Or on a Pastrami sandwich. Ah, heaven.

Goes well with turkey too, and then you can make those extra mayonnaise calories really count!

The comment did not mention kosher delis. ALSO, a LOT of sandwiches come with lettuce and tomato. In fact, 9 times out of 10 when you order a sandwich, you are asked, "Lettuce and tomato?" Go to a deli and ask for a tuna salad sandwich. Ten bucks says you are asked this question. Don't attack me just because I pointed out this empirically warranted fact. Unless you were joking in which case, "ha." But if you were seriously questioning whether delis put lettuce and tomatos on sandwiches, then you have much to learn about sandwiches. -TR

I guess one must be exact in their wording. for me, the only deli I have been to, is a kosher deli and nothing else. I apologize for provoking such rage in you that you would have to resort to language of the street.
I will never comment on this blog again.
p.s. the title of this post was "An Open Letter: New Kosher Deli". I thought we were discussing kosher delis.
